ALLAH AND HIS MESSENGER PRAISE SAYYIDINA IBRAHIM{ALAIHIS - SALAAM} THE SLAVE AND FRIEND OF ALLAH PART=1

Allah has said in the quran
And [recall] when his lord tried Ibrahim with certain commands,
and he fulfilled them,Allah said, "Surely I am going to make you
a leader for mankind.'' He said,''And of my progeny?"He said, My
convenant does not embrance the evildoers."
Surah Al- Baqarah,ch-2,Ayat no-124
When Ibrahim {ALAIHIS - SALAAM} endured the great difficulties
that Allah had commanded him to go through, Allah made him a
leader for mankind.He led them and guided them and he asked
Allah to perpeuate the leadership among his progeny.His prayer
was granted with the exception of the evildoers. The rightous
scholars of his scholar of his offspring were promised this
honour.
And we granted him Ishaq and Yaqub and we assiged the
prophethood the book among his progeny, and we gave him his
reward in this world, and surely in the hereafter shall be among
the rightoues.''
Surah Al - Ankabut,ch-29,Ayat no-27
Again, in surah Al - Anam, Allah has said that he bestowed on
him Ishaq and Yaqub .And Nuh he has guided earlier. Then his
progeny included Dawood, Sulayman,Ayyub,Yusuf , Musa and
Harun and Zakariyya,Yahya, Isa and Ilyas.They were guided and
rightoes.[Ayat no-84,87] Allah has said here, ''this is how we
recompense the good- doers." Then He has named Ismail,Al-
Yasa, Yunus and Lut each of whom He exalted above the people
of the worlds. He also chose and guided to the straight way
some of their forefathers and their progeny and brethren.
Though Lut {ALAIHIS - SALAAM} was son of Ibrahim's {ALAIHIS
- SALAAM} brother, he was included among his progeny. Some
scholar say that the pronoun his [in the third sentence] refers to
Nuh {ALAIHIS - SALAAM} but that is not correct. And Allah
Alone knows best.
Every Book that was revealed on a prophet after Sayyidina
Ibrahim {ALAIHIS - SALAAM} was one of his offspring.This was
a great honour and a distinction of a high degree .And that
begins with his two sons - both great :Ismail from Hajarah
{ALAIHIS - SALAAM} and Ishaq from Sarah {ALAIHIS -
SALAAM}. Form the latter descended Yaqub [Also known as
Isra'il] {ALAIHIS - SALAAM}. All the tribes were related to him
and prophethood was bestowed on them. So many Prophets
were there from him that no knows their number except He who
sent them and chose them with Messengership or Prophethood
untill the line ended with Sayyidina Isa bin Maryam of the Banu
Israil {ALAIHIS - SALAAM} .
As for Isma'il{ALAIHIS - SALAAM} the arabs descended from him
irrespective of their tribes. No prophet is known from his except
the final of them, the seal of the prophets and the cheif of them,
the pride of the children of Aadam {ALAIHIS - SALAAM} in the
earth and the hereafter, Muhammad bin Abdullah bin Abdul
Muttalib bin Hashim, the Quraysh, the Makki and the Madani .
We find none in this noble line and exalted branch but this
splendid jewel and shining pearl and a means to enviable faith -
he is the leader in whom everyone takes pride and on the day of
Resurrection the formost and the later ones will envy him.
Indeed, he has said, "I will attain a rank that the creatures will
crave for each of them even Ibrahim. {Muslim,hadith no-103}
In this context, he showered immense praise on his father
Ibrahim. His words tell us that he is the most excellent of the
creatures of Allah after him in this life and on the day of
Ressurrection.
Ibn Abbas [Radhiyallahu anhu] has narrated that the Prophet
{Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam} used to seek refuge with Allah for
Al-Hasan Al - Husayn and say
I seek refuge IN the perfect words of Allah from every devil and
poisonous pest from every evil eye. {Bukhari,hadith no 3371}
IN Surah al - Baqarah verse 260, the Quran recalls for us the
question of Sayyidina Ibrahim {ALAIHIS - SALAAM} to Allah,"
show me how you give life to dead." So Allah commanded him
to tame four birds and incline them to him and then cut them to
pieces and mix their pieces together, this one with that, and so
on.Then to divide them into portions and place each portion on
different mountains.He did just he was commanded. Then he
was asked to call them with permission of his lord.When he
called them each portion flew to the parent bobyand each
feather combined with its pair and so the boby was
reconstructed as it was before.Sayyidina Ibrahim {ALAIHIS -
SALAAM} watched the power of one who merely says to
anything, "BE" and it becomes. So, the birds came to him
quickly. It is also said that he was commanded to hold the
heads of all the birds in his hands and each body as it was
formed came to him and joined with its head.Indeed there is no
god but Allah.
Sayyidina Ibrahim {ALAIHIS - SALAAM} had desired to observe
with his own eyes.He thus progressed from certainty of
knowledge to certainty of vision.
In Surah Al -Imran [verses 65-68] Allah asks the People of Book
why they dispute concerning Ibrahim {ALAIHIS - SALAAM}
wheather he was a Jew or a Christian for he was none of them
but an upright man of pure faith, a Muslim. Both the Torah and
Injeel were revealed after him.Those who are closest to him are
they who followed him, and this Prophet Muhammad {Sallallahu
Alaihi Wasallam} . Allah had explained from him the religion as
Had explained to Sayyidina Ibrahim {ALAIHIS - SALAAM} and
perfected it for him and granted him what he had not given to
any Prophet or Messenger before him.
Say [o Prophet], ''Certainly my lord has guided me to the
straight way, a right religion, the creed of Ibrahim, an upright
man of pure faith, and he was no associator.Say, ''My prayer
and my rites of worship and my life, and my death are all for
Allah, the lord of the worlds, no associate has he. And this I
have been commanded and i am the first of the Muslim.
Surah Al - Anam ,ch-6,Ayat no-161,163
Allah has said about Ibrahim {ALAIHIS - SALAAM} in Surah An -
Nahl surely he was a model obedient to Allah an upright of pure
faith and he won grateful for Allah's bounties [Verses 120,121]
Ibn Abbas [Radhiyallahu anhu] has said that when the Propphet
{Sallallahu Alaihi wasallam} saw pictures IN Kabah, he did not
enter it till he had ordered them to be erased. When he saw [the
pictures of] Ibrahim and Ismail {ALAIHIS - SALAAM} holding the
arrows of divination in their hands he said, "May Allah curse the
Quraysh for Ibrahim and Ismail never practiced divination by
arrows." {Bukhari,Hadith no-3352}
In Surah An - Nisa verse 125, Allah has asked,"And who is better
in religion than he who submits his will entirely to Allah while
being good and following the creed of Ibrahim an upright man of
faith? And Allah chose Ibrahim for a friend."
The same distinction was awarded to peophet Muhammad
{Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam} as is confirmed in Bukhari and
Muslim as narreted by Jundud Al- Bajali, Abdullah bin Amr and
Ibn Masud.
The Messenger of Allah {Sallallahu Alaihi wasallam} said," O
people if i were to take a Khalil [friend] from the people of the
earth,I would have chosen Abu Bakr, but your man is the friend
of Allah. {Bukhari}
The Prophet {Sallallahu Alaihi wasallam} met Prophet Ibrahim
{ALAIHIS - SALAAM} on the seventh heaven during miraj or
ascension to the heavens in the night journey.
Sayyidina Ibrahim {ALAIHIS - SALAAM} was leaning on the Bayt
Al - Mamur in which seventy thousand angels enter dailynever
again to be able to go in again. {Muslim, as narrated by Anas
[Radhiyallahu Anhu]}
Abu hurairah [Radhiyallahu anhu] has reported that the
messenger of Allah {Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam} said,
''The noble son of the noble son, of the noble son of the nobile
Yusuf bin Yaqub bin Ishaq bin Ibrahim the friend of the
compassionate.''{Ahmed}
There is a hadith in bukhari from Abu hurairah [Radhiyallahu
anhu]:
some one asked, "Messenger of Allah! Who is the best
honourable amongst the people with Allah?" He said, "Al
Muttaqun [the most pious]" They exclaimed, "We do not ask
about that."He said Yusuf, the Prophet of Allah, son of a Prophet
of Allah, son of a prophet of Allah, son of the friend of Allah.''
They said, "We do not ask of that". He said, "Then do you ask
about the descent of Arabs?They said, "Yes."He said, "Those of
them who were best in pre- Islamic times will be the best in
Islam provided they comprehend the religious
Knowledge." {Bukhari,Hadith no-3353}
