Abu hurairah [Radhiyallahu anhu] has reported that the
messenger of Allah {Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam} said,
''The noble son of the noble son, of the noble son of the nobile
Yusuf bin Yaqub bin Ishaq bin Ibrahim the friend of the
compassionate.''[Ahmed]
There is a hadith in bukhari from Abu hurairah [Radhiyallahu
anhu]:some one asked, "Messenger of Allah! Who is the best
honourable amongst the people with Allah?" He said, "Al
Muttaqun [the most pious]" They exclaimed, "We do not ask
about that."He said Yusuf, the Prophet of Allah, son of a Prophet
of Allah, son of a prophet of Allah, son of the friend of Allah.''
They said, "We do not ask of that". He said, "Then do you ask
about the descent of Arabs?They said, "Yes."He said, "Those of
them who were best in pre- Islamic times will be the best in
Islam provided they comprehend the religious
Knowledge." [Bukhari,Hadith no-3353]
Ibn Abbas has narrated a Hadith:
The Prophet {Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam} said, "People will be
gathered naked and uncircumcised.The first one to put on a
dress will be Ibrahim {ALAIHIS - SALAAM} He then recited the
verse
As we originated the first creation, so we shall restore it.
[Ahmed,Bukhari,hadith no-6526,The verse is 104th of al-
Ambiya]
The excellences enjoyed by Prophet Ibrahim {ALAIHIS -
SALAAM} do not shadow the excellences of Prophet Muhammad
{Sallallahu Alaihi wasallam} whom the earlier one and the latter
people will envy.
Imam Ahmad has releted from Anas bin Malik that someone
called the prophet {Sallallahu Alaihi wasallam},"O, the best
creatures!" but he said that ""That one was
Ibrahim"[Ahmed,Muslim].Obviously, this was an expression of
humbleness and respect for his father Ibrahim{ALAIHIS -
SALAAM} as he has also said,"Do not elevate me in merit over
the prophets." He has said, "Do not give me superiority over
Musa for on the Day of Ressurrection all the people will fall
unconscious and I will be the first to regain consciousness but I
will fall Musa already standing and holding the side of the
Throne I will not know if he had also fallen unconscious and got
up before me or his first unconsciouncess at At -Tur was enough
for him."[Bukhari,Hadith no-2411,2412}
These narrations do not contradict that theProphet {Sallallahu
Alaihi Wasallam} will be the leader of the childeren of Sayyidina
Aadam {ALAIHIS - SALAAM} on the day of Resurrection.
Sayyidina Ibrahim {ALAIHIS - SALAAM} being the most
mertorious of the Messenger after Muhammad {Sallallahu Alaihi
Wasallam}. Muslims are instructed to invoke blessings on him in
their regular Salat as stated in the Hadith in Bukhari and Muslim
and narrated by Kab Ibn Ujrah.
We said, "Messenger of Allah! We know about the salam to be
conveyed to you but how do we convey the Salah to you? He
said say:
Allaahumma salli Alaa Muhammadiuw wa alaa aali Muhammadin
kamaa sallaitha alaa Ibraheema wa alaa aali Ibraheema innaka
hameedum majeed.
Allaahumma baarik alaa Muhammadiunw wa alaa aali
Muhammadin kamaa baaraktha alaa Ibraheema wa alaa aali
Ibrheema innaka hameedum majeed.
Allah! Send Your Mercy on Muhammad and on the family of
Muhammad, as You sent Your Mercy on Abraham and on the
family of Abraham, for You are the Most Praise-worthy, the Most
Glorious. O Allah! Send Your Blessings on Muhammad and the
family of Muhammad, as You sent your Blessings on Abraham
and on the family of Abraham, for You are the Most Praise-
worthy, the Most Glorious.' " {Bukhari,Hadith no-3370}
Allah has said:
And Ibrahim, he who faithfully fulfilled [Allah's commandments]
{Surah an - Najm,ch-53,Ayat no-37}
That is, he fulfilled all the requirements and obeyed all the
orders.He measured upto the descriptions of faith whether major
or minor.
Sayyidina Ibrahim {ALAIHIS - SALAAM} was put to trial by Allah
with certain commands [Al- Baqarah,ch-2,Ayat no-216].
According to Ibn Abbas these pertained to purity or
purification.Five acts concerned the head and five the rest of the
body. The former are:
1.Clipping the mustache,
2.Rinsing the mouth,
3.Using the Siwak {Tooth stick from a branch or root of a tree
Al- arak}
4.Snuffing water into nostrils, and
5.parting the hair.
The other five concerning the rest of the body are:
1.Clipping the nails,
2.Shaving the Pubes,
3.Circumcision,
4.plucking out hair from the armpits, and
5.Washing the organs with water after passing stool or urine.
It is transmitted by Bukhari and Muslim as narrated by Abu
Hurairah [Radhiyallahu anhu] that the Prophet {Sallallahu Aliahi
wasallam} said,'Natural- tendencies [called Al- Fitrah] are five:
1.Circumcision,
2.Shaving public hair
3.Cutting the moustaches short,
4.Clipping the nails and
5.Depilating the hair of armpits.[Bukhari,hadith no-5889]
Muslim has transmitted a Hadith as narrated by Sayyidah
Ayshah [Radhiyallahu anha] that the messenger of Allah
{Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam} said," Ten things come naturally to
a man [that is, they are Al- Fitrah]:
1. "Clipping the Moustache,
2. Letting the beard grow,
3. Using the tooth stick,
4.Snuffing up water
5.Cutting the nails,
6.Washing the finger joints,
7.Plucking the hair under armpits,
.shaving the pubes, and
9,Cleansing oneself with water voiding excrement or passing
urine, and.''[The narrator forget the tenth]
this is the meaning of the words of the Quran
And Ibrahim was the one who faithfully fulled Allah's
commandments. {Surah An- Najm,ch-37,Ayat no-37}
CASTLE OF IBRAHIM {ALAIHIS - SALAAM} IN PARADISE
Hafiz Abu Bakr Al - Bazar has transmitted a hadith narrated by
Abu Hurairah [Radhiyallahu anhu] that in paradise there is a
place in which there is no crevice and no defect whatsoever.Allah
has prepared it for his friend, Ibrahim {ALAIHIS - SALAAM}.

DESCRIPTION OF SAYYIDINA IBRAHIM {ALAIHIS - SALAAM}
A Hadith has been narrated by Ibn Abbas [Radhiyallahu anhu]
that he heard Prophet {Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam} say,"So far
as ibrahim is concerned, you may see your companion,[That is ,
he bore a striking resemblance to the peophet [Sallallahu Alaihi
Wasallam} ], and as for Musa he is a well built man with wheat
complexion, [riding] on a red - camel with its halter made of the
fibre of the date- palm as if I am seeing him as he goes down
the valley.[Ibn Kathir has mentioned both Bukhari and
Muslim.The translation here is directly from Muslim Hadith ft
320 vi p 107 Muhammad.]
DEATH OF SAYYIDINA IBRAHIM {ALAIHIS - SALAAM}
Ibn Jarir has stated in his Tarikh [Tarikh Tabari] that Sayyidina
Ibrahim {ALAIHIS - SALAAM} was born in the times of Nimrud
bin Kanan, the tyrant king.His astrologers had warned him that a
child would be born who would subsequently dethrone him. So,
he had forbidden men to approach their wives and he killed all
infants born during that time.Sayyidina Ibrahim {ALAIHIS -
SALAAM} was born in this duration.
His wife Sarah {ALAIHIS - SALAAM} died while he was alive in
the village Habrun in Kanan.
He then married Ishaq {ALAIHIS - SALAAM} to Rafaqa bint
Batuil.He himself married Qantura and had children from her.
It is said that Ibrahim {ALAIHIS - SALAAM} died suddenly. some
people people say that he died after an illness and was buried in
the same graveyard as Sarah {ALAIHIS - SALAAM} was.
Yahya bin Said bin Al - Mussayib has said,"Ibrahim was the first
person to entertain guests, to circummcise, to trim the
mustaches, to see gray hair and say, 'O lord! What is this?' And
Allah Said,'Dignity So he said My Lord! Increase me in
dignity!" {Muwatta Imam Mailk ,Hadith 167,chapter,530}
His grave and the graves of his son Ishaq {ALAIHIS - SALAAM}
and his sonYaqub {ALAIHIS - SALAAM} are in the square by
Sulayman bin Dawood {ALAIHIS - SALLAM} in Habrun. This
place is now known as Al- Khalil.This information has come to
us cintinuously and from generation to generation from the times
of the Banu Isra;il to our own times but we have no authentic
confirmation in this regard from the Prophet {Sallallahu Alaihi
Wasallam}.
Sayyidina Ibrahim {ALAIHIS - SALAAM} lived for a hundred and
seventy five years or ninety year according to some people.
THE CHILDREN OF SAYYIDINA IBRAHIM {ALAIHIS - SALAAM}
The first child of Sayyidina Ibrahim {ALAIHIS - SALAAM} was
Sayyidina Ismail {ALAIHIS - SALAAM}.He was born to Sayyidah
Hajarah {ALAIHIS - SALAAM} the coptic Egyptain.Sayyidina
Ishaq {ALAIHIS - SALAAM} was his second son and he was born
to Sayyidah Sarah {ALAIHIS- SALAAM} daughter of the paternal
uncle of Sayyidina Ibrahim {ALAIHIS- SALAAM} .After she died,
he married Qantura daughter of Yaqtan and had six children
from her Madyan, Zamran, Sarj,Yaqshan and Nashq while sixth
is not named.He married after her Hajun daughter of Amin and
she gave birth to five children, Kisan,Suraj,Ameem, Lutan and
Nafis.
This is what is mentioned in At - Tareef wa Al - Alam by Abu Al
- Qasin Al- Suhayli.
